ATTENDANCE: Students are expected to arrive for lessons in a timely manner, with all required materials and music.
TIME: Lessons will be thirty minutes.
PARENT PARTICIPATION: All parents/guardians are welcome at any time to observe. However, the teacher reserves the right to ask the parent to not attend if the parent’s presence alters the quality of the lesson. Parents are encouraged to be active participants in the music learning process.
COST: Fifteen dollars ($15.00) per half-hour lesson.
PAYMENT: Students have the option of paying weekly (due at the time of the lesson), or paying monthly (due at the first lesson of the month). Students should notify the teacher of their chosen method of payment at the first lesson. Payments can be made through venmo, personal cheque, or cash. Venmo is the preferred option. Please make checks payable to Sarah C Brown. In the event that an excused absence occurs, any pre-paid tuition will be applied toward a lesson in the following month. Students are expected to pay for all their own music books and materials. The teacher reserves the right to raise fees at the beginning of each new teaching year; if this happens students will be informed a month in advance.
CANCELLATIONS: An absence due to illness, accident, or family emergency will be excused provided the teacher is notified 24 hours in advance. Lessons missed due to family vacation can be excused provided notification is given a month in advance. Students are responsible to pay for lessons canceled without twenty-four hours notice. No refund will be given for no-shows or tardiness. If you think you will be delayed, please call to let me know if you will be coming. It is the students responsibility to sign up for makeup lesson time if desired; however, makeup lessons cannot be guaranteed due to the teacher’s limited availability.
TEACHER ABSENCE: The teacher reserves the right to miss lessons due to illness or professional commitments. The teacher will reschedule such lessons or if no reschedule is possible you will not have to pay for those missed lessons.
OFFICE HOURS: The teacher may be unable to discuss student progress with parents before or after lessons since other students have lessons at those times. Parents should call or schedule an appointment with the teacher, if they have concerns or questions. Email messages to email@example.com are encouraged. If you wish to call it is most convenient to reach the teacher via email to schedule a time to talk.
It is my sincerest hope that you understand the necessity of establishing a STUDIO POLICY. If you have questions regarding this policy don’t hesitate to ask.
